Jackson Hogg are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our clients team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day routing of vehicles, ensuring operations are managed efficiently and effectively. Working as part of a centralised team, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, optimising fleet performance, and supporting drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning & Scheduling: Plan and optimise daily tanker deliveries and collections, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance & Safety: Implement Health, Safety & Environment policies and ensure all operations comply with ADR regulations and driver hours legislation.
  • Vehicle & Driver Management:
  • Schedule all vehicles for the allocated sites/region.
  • Manage driver holidays and absences.
  • Brief and debrief drivers in coordination with regional traffic operators.
  • Ensure drivers attend all required training.
  • Ensure vehicles are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Fuel & Stock Management: Oversee depot fuel stock levels and coordinate replenishment as required.
  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
  • Produce and provide relevant operational reports.
  • Ensure all planning objectives are met and exceeded where possible.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Transport Planning
  • Knowledge of ADR regulations and hazardous goods transport.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
