Job description

Job Title: Transport Planner

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Retail sector at our Goole Customer site. As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to the success of the transport team by overseeing the day-to-day planning functions of the transport operation. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of handling daily challenges to develop effective transport plans.

Working Hours:

4 on 4 off days, 06:00-18:00

Salary:

£28,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create efficient transport plans using the latest TMS.
2. Assemble 400+ consolidated orders into loads within a 24-hour period.
3. Plan and subcontract orders from multiple warehouses and manufacturing sites across the UK.
4. Plan daily fleet workloads based on site and outbases.
5. Report problems, resolve issues, and handle queries as they arise.
6. Schedule approximately 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
7. Maintain and exceed established KPIs.
8. Identify and implement continuous improvements.
9. Make decisions under pressure within tight timeframes.
10. Maintain flexibility and adaptability to meet business needs, especially during peak periods.
11. Utilize the Culina Group network efficiently to support Warrens when volumes require.

Qualifications:

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience planning units across multiple depots.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Customer-focused with a focus on delivery performance.
• Commercially and financially astute, driven to achieve results.
• Experience using a TMS system.
• Experience in an FMCG environment.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel formulas.
