Job Description

We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Retail sector at our Goole Customer site. As a Transport Planner, you will contribute to the success of the transport team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning of the transport operation. You should be highly motivated, experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of handling daily challenges in providing effective transport plans.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off days

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:

• Collaborate with Transport and Warehouse teams to create efficient transport plans using the latest TMS.
• Assemble over 400 consolidated orders into loads within a 24-hour period.
• Plan and coordinate orders from multiple warehouses and manufacturing sites across the UK.
• Schedule daily fleet workload, including vehicles based on site and outbases.
• Report issues, resolve problems, and handle queries promptly.
• Plan approximately 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
• Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs.
• Proactively seek continuous improvements.
• Make decisions under pressure within tight timeframes.
• Be flexible and adaptable to meet business needs, especially during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience in planning units across multiple depots.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Customer-focused with a focus on delivery performance.
• Financially and commercially astute, with a drive to deliver results.
• Experience using a TMS system.
• Experience in an FMCG environment.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas.
