Transport Planner

Are you a motivated and organised individual with a passion for logistics? We're looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a dynamic team, managing and coordinating operations across general haulage and the pallet network.

About the Role:
As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You'll be responsible for planning and routing vehicles, managing drivers, and meeting customer delivery requirements, all while keeping compliance and safety at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan daily routes for HGVs in both general haulage and pallet network operations.

• Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure timely collections and deliveries.

• Monitor transport costs and maximise vehicle utilisation.

• Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and company procedures.

• React quickly to changes or delays and provide effective solutions.

• Maintain clear and accurate records using transport management systems (TMS).

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in transport planning within general haulage and/or pallet networks.

• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Good IT skills and experience with TMS (e.g., Mandata, Stirling, Microlise - desirable).
