Trinity Business Support are working with an established family business in North Yorkshire, who are looking for an experienced Transport Planner for their operation moving up into Felling, Gateshead.

Our client is looking for a dynamic individual with solid experience in transport planning and who demonstrates a good knowledge of UK and North East locations.

The successful candidate will have close communication with key clients, as well as other haulage companies, and must have an experienced planning background.

Main Duties:

Reporting directly to the GM, you will:

* Be part of a team and take responsibility for UK transport and movements.

* Within the role, you will be encouraged to create new business, giving potential into the wider UK regions, making a significant impact on the growth of the business, whilst working within an operational role.

* As a transport planner, you will become an expert on your product, confidently marketing the benefits of the business across the region and beyond.

* Be encouraged to build your own customer base by engaging with prospects via telephone, email and online communication.

* You will play a pivotal part in the success of the business at the Gateshead depot.

Requirements:

* Be experienced in the road freight forwarding / transport business operationally, with also the drive in the business growth at the branch.

* Strong geographical knowledge of UK destinations

* You will come with a proven transport background

* Be fearless in running with and selling a niche transport product.

* Have the organisational skills to balance and prioritise numerous challenges within the business.

Pay/Benefits/Hours:

From £30,000 (a degree of flexibility depending on experience)

Monday – Friday - Working 8hrs per day between 07:00am and 19:00pm.
