It provides the best and most effective vehicle salvage collection and disposal services for UK-based insurance companies, fleet hire, and more. They have an expanding network of UK sites with employees across the country and are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team.
Our client is looking for a full-time, permanent Transport Planner for their Canvey site. Reporting to the Transport Planner Team Leader, this role is critical to the success of the transport department.
The purpose of the role is to manage daily vehicle collections based on insurance company instructions through a combination of company-owned trucks and sub-contractors. The planner will aim to maximize collection capacity by effectively utilizing the fleet of transporters and optimizing routes where applicable.

Candidates should have experience working in a fast-paced transport office, understanding the vehicle collection process from instruction to delivery, and working within KPIs.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of road transport and UK geography, understanding of driving issues (including Tacho hours), good communication skills, self-motivation, organization, resilience, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to use their initiative.
Willingness to review and suggest improvements to Driver and vehicle routing applications is also desirable.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. The specific start and finish times will be determined by the reporting manager and aligned with business needs.
