Job summary

A leading production company in Erith is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their Transport Department. This role involves planning daily transport schedules, building relationships with sub-contractors, and maintaining transport records. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Transport Planning, strong geographical knowledge of the UK, and excellent organizational skills. This is a 12-month contract position with a pay rate of £14.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce daily transport schedules in a cost-effective manner
  • Build relationships with sub-contractor partners
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport records
  • Conduct driver debriefs and follow up on CAPAs including root-cause analysis
  • Support the export delivery planning process
  • Provide admin support to internal teams and external customers
  • Deliver excellent customer service across all touchpoints
  • Commit to ongoing personal and professional development
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by management

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a Transport Planning role
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive and independent worker who can also operate well in a team
  • Customer service experience is desirable
