Key Responsibilities
  • Develop optimal transportation routes considering distance, time, cost, and mode of transport.
  • Choose appropriate carriers and logistics providers based on capacity, reliability, cost, and service agreements.
  • Coordinate multiple shipments into full truckloads or container loads to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Plan and schedule transportation movements, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
  • Use tracking systems to monitor shipments in transit and communicate updates to carriers and customers.
  • Ensure all transport documentation and reports are accurate and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential savings and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and effective communication.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and drive operational excellence.
  • Provide guidance on transport operations, ensuring staff meet key objectives and follow best practices.
  • Adhere to all operational and statutory requirements to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in transport planning and logistics operations is essential.
  • Strong Air & Road Logistics knowledge, including freight, cargo handling, and transport regulations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • ADR & Hazardous Awareness Training (Cargo Op / Level D) advantageous.
  • Driving & Forklift Licence preferred (training available).
  • Professional, front‑facing presentation.
  • Flexibility to work within a 24/7 operational environment (set shift pattern provided).
