Transport Planner
Kent
£36,000 - £38,000 per annum
NIGHTS - 4 on 4 off
A leading transport company based in Dover is seeking a new EU Transport Planner to support their growth. A competitive salary is offered for the right candidate, ranging from £36,000 to £38,000 depending on experience.
You will work Monday to Friday. Good progression opportunities and future growth are available.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team. The Transport Planner will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing transportation activities to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and logistics processes.
Responsibilities include resource planning, vehicle utilization, driver instruction, and ensuring compliance with safety and customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Subcontract additional loads when necessary
* Focus on day 1 for day 2 planning, working with the transport operator to provide updates on same-day changes
* Send farm load plans accurately and timely
* Communicate full plans to subcontractors and drivers with complete information
* Update planning sheets for drivers and subcontractors
* Add revenue details to planning sheets
* Monitor planning emails for reloads and upload reloads onto Roadrunner
* Allocate plans onto Roadrunner, supported by the Transport Administrator
* Coordinate maintenance and service planning for trucks and trailers
* Assist Transport Manager with driver training and planning allowances
