Transport Planner - Kent

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

A leading transport company based in Dover is seeking a new EU Transport Planner to support their continued growth. A good salary is on offer for the right candidate, depending on experience. The role is Monday to Friday, with good progression options and future growth opportunities.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team. The Transport Planner will coordinate and optimize transportation activities to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Resourcing and forward planning all company resources, utilizing company and third-party resources when required.
• Managing vehicle utilization and ensuring drivers receive clear and timely instructions.
• Meeting service levels cost-effectively within drivers' hours and health & safety regulations, while fulfilling customer requirements.
• Subcontracting additional loads that cannot be covered with company resources.
• Focusing on day 1 for day 2 planning, updating the transport operator on same-day changes.
• Ensuring farm load plans are sent accurately and promptly.
• Communicating full plans to subcontractors and drivers with complete and accurate information.
• Updating planning sheets for drivers' load/control (L/C) and start/finish days.
• Adding revenue data to planning sheets.
• Monitoring planning emails for reloads and uploading own reloads onto Road Runner.
• Allocating plans onto Road Runner, supported by the Transport Administrator between 16:00-18:00.
• Collaborating with the fleet team to plan maintenance and service schedules for trucks and trailers.
• Assisting Transport Manager in driver training by planning allowances as needed.
