Our client, a major logistics operator, is seeking a Transport Planner to join their fast-paced distribution site in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to contribute to a time-critical operation in the FMCG sector.

The key responsibilities of a Transport Planner:
• Work closely with Transport and Warehouse teams to develop an efficient daily transport plan using the latest TMS
• Plan daily fleet workloads across site-based and outbase vehicles
• Schedule time-sensitive collections each day and ensure service expectations are met
• Respond to operational issues and resolve queries in a calm and professional manner
• Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs, identifying and delivering improvements where possible
• Make informed, rapid decisions under pressure in a live environment
• Adapt to meet business demands, particularly during peak trading periods

The minimum requirements for the Transport Planner role:
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
• Experience in planning units across multiple depots
• Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
• Commercial awareness and financial understanding
• Experience using a TMS system
• Experience in an FMCG transport or logistics environment
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel (standard formulas)

• Proven track record in delivering transport plans efficiently in a multi-depot operation
• Driven and results-focused, with excellent problem-solving skills
