Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnetto assist with the appointment of a Transport Planner, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £30.91 - £40.81 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Review planning applications and assess transport implications, layouts, and travel plans.
  • Advise on policy, pre-applications, and funding for sustainable transport infrastructure.
  • Liaise with developers, TfL, and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Represent the Council at planning committees, appeals, and public inquiries.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or Master's in Transport Planning, Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field
  • Knowledge of London Plan, Manual for Streets, and UK planning processes
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in local authority or related development planning roles
