Job Opportunity: Transport Planner

Due to increased demand, our supply chain logistics client is looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner, to join their team based at London Gateway.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Being the main contact for customers, hauliers, suppliers, and internal departments such as Warehouse and Customer Service;
2. Ensuring all compliance processes are followed in line with legal requirements;
3. Using IT software to plan deliveries, negotiate rates, and charge additional fees to customers;
4. Assisting with all other aspects of the transport operation as required;
5. Identifying and helping to win new business to generate additional revenue and maximize vehicle utilization.

This is a full-time, permanent position, predominantly working 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Due to the nature of the role, additional tasks outside normal hours may be required, such as calls and emails related to delivery issues.

Salary: Up to £35,000, depending on skills and experience.

Ideal Candidate: Logistics professionals with 2+ years of transport planning experience, a 'can-do' attitude, and an understanding of driver hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation. Knowledge of Reefer transport is a plus.

Applicants should demonstrate commercial instincts, a strong team ethic, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively within a complex, nationwide logistics operation.
