Transport Planner

Department: Woodside Tankfreight

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

Overview

Woodside Tankfreight specialises in the transport of bulk powders, liquids, and gases across the UK and Ireland. Known for our expertise, reliability, and customer-centric approach, we are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team.

Working within our specialist Tankfreight division the successful candidate will have full involvement in the planning & co-ordination of our fleet of Tanks and drivers, distributing bulk powders, liquids, and gases throughout the U.K. and Ireland, ensuring compliance with Road Traffic and Working Time laws. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.

The Role
  • Liaising with our drivers and operations teams to ensure a high service level for our customers.
  • Ensuring vehicles are planned efficiently, maximising delivery and collection performance.
  • Accurate booking, monitoring, and updating of consignments on our Transport Management System.
  • Ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork and that specific customer requirements are adhered to.
  • Liaising with drivers and driver trainers to ensure completion of all relevant driver training.
  • Liaising with fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles and equipment are made available for service and MOT when required.
  • Liaising with ferry companies to confirm and secure bookings & sailings.
Essential Criteria
  • At least 2 years' previous experience working in a Transport / Traffic planning role
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of using a TMS
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft applications
