Job description

Job Title: Transport Coordinator

We are seeking a talented Transport Coordinator based at our customer site in Milton Keynes. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, starting at 6 am, based on a 40-hour week.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Creating cost-effective haulage plans aligned with customer expectations and Service Level Agreements.
  2. Managing day-to-day vehicle and driver compliance.
  3. Reacting and adapting positively to the demands of a dynamic live environment.
  4. Maintaining consistent communication regarding planning changes and service delivery with customers and hauliers.
  5. Ensuring commercial awareness in line with protocols for ad hoc deliveries.
  6. Working flexibly to meet fluctuating business demands.
  7. Using transport planning systems effectively and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
  8. Supporting peers and offering ideas for service improvement.
  9. Proactively ensuring safety and hazard prevention in compliance with policies.
  10. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and experience needed:

  • Experience in a transport environment, ideally in a 3PL setting.
  • Good knowledge of UK geography.
  • Experience with transport planning software.
  • Understanding of large goods vehicles and trailer equipment.
  • Proven ability to build strong communication and customer relationships.
  • Experience in challenging customer service environments.
