Job description

Lambert Brothers are recruiting a Transport Operator to join their team at their site in Eastleigh. The role of the Transport Operator will be to plan and execute collection and delivery schedules via the most cost-efficient means, in line with business objectives, customer service levels, and legislative requirements.

Working hours and benefits:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 10:00 - 20:00
  • £10 shift allowance per day
  • 45 hours per week
  • Salary dependent on experience

About The Job:

  • Utilise IT systems and vehicles to allocate drivers, loads, and trailers efficiently, and communicate plans to internal and external customers to improve departmental and group efficiency.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing levels, including agency staff, to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage driver hours by authorising and auditing weekly timesheets to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding load sheets, vehicle maintenance, operational delays, and other relevant updates.
  • Participate in team activities and cross-training to provide effective cover in colleagues' absence.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
