Overview:
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business, currently expanding its service offering with the launch of a brand-new curtainside operation. This is a key leadership role for an experienced Transport Operations Manager with a solid background in curtainside transport and setting up new operations.

The position is based in Tilbury initially, with plans to transition operations to a new site in Thurrock. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a significant growth phase and help shape the future of a new department from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the launch and day-to-day management of a new curtainside operation
• Manage driver recruitment, fleet setup, route planning, and resource allocation
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, safety standards, and internal policies
• Collaborate with senior leadership on operational strategy and performance goals
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
• Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee the safe and efficient transition from Tilbury to the Thurrock site

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Transport Operations Manager or similar leadership role
• Extensive knowledge of curtainside transport operations
• Track record of setting up or launching new transport operations/sites
• Strong understanding of compliance, driver hours, and fleet safety
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Hands-on, proactive approach to team and operational management
