Job summary

The Transport Administrator role in St Ives, England, offers a structured, fast-paced environment within a busy transport operation. You will support day-to-day activities, liaising with drivers, customers and planners to ensure on-time deliveries.

The ideal candidate has strong administration skills, knowledge of drivers’ hours regulations, and excellent communication abilities. The position provides a Monday–Friday pattern with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of drivers' hours regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Excellent communicators who can build relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

• Flexible, reliable and able to manage tasks accurately.
• Proactive team players who can also work independently and make decisions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support in line with transport legislation and company procedures.
• Work closely with the Transport Management team.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Support the daily transport plan and ensure timely collections.
• Complete and maintain accurate transport documentation.
• Communicate delays and updates to the planning team.
• Act as a key contact for customer enquiries and schedule changes.
• Use Transport Management Systems to manage activities.
• Monitor drivers' hours and tachographs for compliance.
• Assist with subcontractor requirements and vehicle defect management.
