Job summary

Sharpsmart Ltd. is expanding its Stoke-on-Trent transport team and seeking an experienced Transport Manager. You will lead depot operations, ensuring driver and vehicle compliance, while delivering efficient collection services and driving new service integrations with commercial awareness.

The role emphasizes liaison with stakeholders, performance management, recruitment, and health and safety across a growing team. Strong CPC/ADR knowledge and regional routing experience are essential.

Qualifications

Must have CPC qualification or ADR knowledge.
Proven experience in transport management with strong compliance understanding.
Experience in vehicle routing and knowledge of North East region.
Experience working with drivers and building relationships.
Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities.
People management including hiring and disciplinary actions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

Oversee depot transport operations and driver/vehicle compliance.
Schedule, analyze, plan and manage out-of-hours responses.
Investigate incidents and support disciplinary processes, accidents, and driver training.
Manage performance, absences, KPI setting, 1:1s and recruitment.
Assist with vehicle and supplier procurement and supply.
Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Submit transport updates/reports to Senior Management Team.
Lead transport recruitment and development, ensuring health and safety compliance.
