We are currently recruiting a Transport Manager for our site in Perth. The successful candidate will effectively manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department to meet both customer and company expectations, fulfill the Customer Commitment, and achieve targets.

Key Tasks

  1. Ensure all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced according to FTA regulations, current legislation, and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  2. Operate and maintain the Route man’s message pad procedure to ensure customer service satisfaction.
  3. Encourage Route men to participate in all campaigns to achieve added value service sales.
  4. Ensure daily loading/unloading of items from vehicles and their delivery and return to customers as per agreements.
  5. Adhere to all requirements of the Operator’s Licence at all times.
  6. Establish and maintain good customer relations; act as liaison between customer and company.
  7. Utilize the AS400 computer system effectively.
  8. Recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager.
  9. Provide ongoing training for drivers, review their development regularly.
  10. Forward queries to relevant departments and keep managers, supervisors, and colleagues informed.
  11. Keep all costs within or below budget.
  12. Maintain accurate records as required.
  13. Wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids as supplied.
  14. Comply with company policies on health & safety and COSHH requirements.
  15. Follow company procedures and employment terms.
  16. Keep the work area clean, tidy, safe, and secure.
  17. Attend training courses as required.
  18. Foster good working relations throughout the company.
  19. Maintain confidentiality of company business.
  20. Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
