We are recruiting a Transport Manager for a third-party logistics (3PL) company in Stanford-le-Hope. Leading an office team of four, you will oversee 10 own-fleet vehicles and their drivers on the operator's licence, alongside approximately eight vans operating on a separate contract outside the O-licence fleet. Although the fleet is relatively small, the operation is varied and at times complex, requiring close coordination across multiple departments. The role combines hands-on transport management, a strong focus on compliance and a clear remit to reduce departmental costs while maintaining service standards. A Transport Manager CPC is essential, as you must be able to be named as Transport Manager on the company's operator's licence.
You will bring practical transport management experience, strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage complexity within a small fleet operation.
Essential: Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), with the ability to be named as Transport Manager on the company's operator's licence.
Experience managing transport operations, vehicle and driver compliance, and an office-based team within a logistics environment.
A good understanding of groupage, fashion logistics and the operational demands of a 3PL business.
Experience working with vehicle rental companies and adapting fleet capacity to meet seasonal peaks and changing contract requirements.
A track record of controlling costs and improving fleet efficiency, supported by strong planning, problem-solving and cross-departmental communication skills.
