Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company based near Staines, who are looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to join their team.

This role involves overseeing day-to-day transport operations, coordinating drivers and deliveries, and ensuring fleet compliance. It's ideal for someone organized, solution-focused, and confident in managing multiple moving parts.

Salary: £28,000 - £36,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and scheduling UK and Europe deliveries and collections
  • Providing accurate transport quotations
  • Monitoring job progress and resolving any delivery issues
  • Communicating effectively with drivers and third parties
  • Managing fleet maintenance and servicing schedules
  • Ensuring vehicle compliance and addressing defects promptly
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
  • Supporting general office and admin duties as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a transport or coordination role
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to stay calm under pressure and make fast, informed decisions
  • IT confidence and quick to learn systems
  • A professional, team-oriented attitude
Desirable (not essential)
  • National CPC qualification
  • HGV Class 2 and/or forklift license
  • Experience managing fuel cards and congestion charge accounts
  • Background in vehicle scheduling or route planning
Additional Info
  • Out-of-hours phone cover is required once every 4 weeks (company mobile provided)
