Transport Manager - Haulage (Oxford-Based)

Thorne & Wait Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Transport Manager to join our clients team in Oxford, specialising in haulage operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing logistics company with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily transport operations and ensure legal compliance with all road haulage regulations.
  2. Maintain fleet efficiency, safety, and servicing schedules.
  3. Monitor driver performance and ensure proper training, working hours compliance, and tachograph regulations.
  4. Manage routing, scheduling, and vehicle availability.
  5. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  6. Investigate and resolve incidents or non-compliance issues.

Requirements:
  1. CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Road Haulage - essential.
  2. Valid HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2) - essential.
  3. Proven experience in a transport management role, preferably in a haulage or logistics environment.
  4. Strong knowledge of transport legislation and health & safety regulations.
  5. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  6. Proficient in transport software and Microsoft Office Suite.
