Job description

Transport Manager - Oxfordshire


Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for a Transport Operations Manager to join our logistics company in Oxfordshire.


This role will be based in the transport department, working across the office, yard, and warehouse.


Hours:

Mon-Fri 8 am-6 pm


Salary:

up to 36,000 (DOE)


Duties:
  1. Being responsible for all vehicle routing throughout the day and in the evening for the following day, ensuring that all routes are achievable and fit within the boundaries.
  2. Managing all vehicle maintenance, working time directive initiatives, and compliance with all relevant laws.
  3. Providing support to drivers and supervisors, acting as the first point of contact for day-to-day queries.
  4. Ensuring health and safety compliance, carrying out risk assessments, and participating in briefings.
  5. Covering both day shift and back shift periods, ensuring that all deliveries and collections are collectively scanned and labelled.
  6. Communicating with various stakeholders within the business, including clients, depots, and internal staff.
  7. Being proficient in using internal systems and Microsoft packages.

Requirements:
  1. Transport Managers CPC
  2. 3 years of experience within transport/vehicle management
  3. HGV driving licence
  4. Strong leadership qualities
  5. Competent in all Microsoft packages
