Job Description

Transport Planner – Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll plan and coordinate transport for a fleet of 20 3.5t vehicles and 6 third-party logistics (3PL) partners, ensuring efficient delivery from suppliers to customer addresses.
Responsibilities include:
• Planning daily driver routes within operational hours
• Coordinating with customers, managers, and suppliers to meet delivery needs
• Monitoring traffic patterns and advising on route issues
• Creating cost-effective route maps and schedules
• Managing inbound deliveries with 3PL carriers and suppliers
• Building strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and partners
• Tracking KPIs such as delivery times and costs, adjusting plans as needed
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Staying up to date with transport technology and industry trends

Hourly Rate: Pay & Benefits:• £28,000 to £32,000 per annum depending on experience• Free On-Site parking• 28 Days annual leave per annum• Staff discount scheme• Company pension scheme

Working Hours: Hours of Work:• 5 days Monday to Saturday, you will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays.• Working 07:30 – 17:30 Daily

Experience & Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements:
• Good secondary education including English and Mathematics
• Practical experience with transport planning software in a similar setting and fleet size
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Knowledge of industry trends, environmental regulations, and traffic management policies
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and health & safety
• Understanding of HR procedures
• Familiarity with Operator Licence, DVSA, DVLA, and Traffic Commissioner regulations related to vehicle maintenance and compliance
