Job summary

TLP in Ipswich is seeking a hands-on Transport Manager to lead our nationwide operation of 60+ vehicles, oversee an office team of 5, and own the transport function.

You will run daily operations to hit service, cost and compliance targets, coach the team, maintain fleet standards and ensure O-Licence compliance via approved providers. You\'ll be a key voice in the site leadership team.

A CPC is beneficial and you should be prepared to work towards it within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a transport operation.
• Genuine leadership ability; people follow you because they want to.
• Proactive, organised approach with an eye for detail.
• Solid grounding in transport compliance, vehicle maintenance and route planning.
• Flexibility, including the occasional early start.

We're looking for a hands-on Transport Manager to take full ownership of our transport function and join the site leadership team. You'll run a nationwide operation of 60+ vehicles, manage an office team of 5, and have real influence over a business-critical part of the company.

The role

• Running daily transport operations, hitting service, cost and compliance targets


• Leading, coaching and developing your office team and driver workforce


• Keeping the fleet maintained, legal and compliant with O-Licence standards via approved service providers


• Tracking performance, solving problems in real time and driving improvement


• Acting as a key voice in the site leadership team

With a mixed fleet of artics and rigids under an O-Licence. A CPC isn't essential — but you must be prepared to work towards it and gain it within your first 12 months.
