Loom Talent is partnering with a leader in contract logistics to recruit a Transport Manager for their distribution center in Feltham.

As a Transport Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the transport department, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods, with a focus on service quality, fleet efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organize and oversee the operation of the transport department on-site.
  2. Support route planning using TMS, ensuring routes comply with weight and time constraints.
  3. Track and monitor KPIs, including OTIF scores by route, driver, and customer, taking corrective actions as needed.
  4. Monitor vehicle temperature control to maintain the cold chain at all times.
  5. Ensure all deliveries have PODs, investigating discrepancies when necessary.
  6. Maintain responsibility for the site's Operator's license.
  7. Manage the budget for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  8. Coordinate with vehicle contractors to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  9. Facilitate communication between distribution, warehouse teams, and the wider business to resolve issues promptly.
  10. Motivate and develop the team to meet productivity targets.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Background in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain - Essential.
  • National/International CPC qualification, demonstrating understanding of transportation regulations - Essential.
  • At least 3 years of transport management experience within Food, FMCG, or Contract Logistics sectors - Essential.
  • Proven experience managing fleets of 50+ vehicles - Essential.
  • Must be able to commute to Feltham - Essential.
  • Passion for people development, service excellence, and continuous improvement - Advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills and commitment to fostering a culture of excellence - Essential.
