Job description

Bennett and Game are partnering with a leading Plant & Haulage firm actively seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive Transport Manager to lead their Thurrock branch.

Overview

You will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of equipment, materials, and personnel, support plant fleet activities, and maintain the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who combines strong operational knowledge with excellent team and licence management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day transport operations at the Thurrock branch.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient movement of equipment, materials, and personnel.
• Support plant fleet activities and maintenance in line with regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain high safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the Transport team and licence management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Management Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and have proven experience applying its principles in daily operations.
• Experience with or accreditation in FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is desirable.
• A current HGV driving licence is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of Operator's Licence (O-licence) obligations.
• Knowledge and/or previous management of plant fleets is desirable.

Salary & Benefits

• Base salary of £45,000 - £50,000 DOE
• Monday - Friday, days only
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays
• Company pension scheme
