Hours: Mon - Fri 8am - 6pm

We are currently looking for a Transport / Logistics Supervisor for a busy transport / logistics department in Grantham for an immediate need. This role will be supervising a small team in a busy transport hub.

Your duties as a Transport / Logistics Supervisor will include:

1. Responsible for planning, routing and day to day running of the vehicles.
2. Breakdown, repair, and MOT organising, dealing with issues about the vehicles and documenting these.
3. Managing 2 direct reports along with holiday management, rotas, timesheet analysis, hours, and driver records.
4. Optimising the utilisation of vehicles, updating delivery times to clients.
5. Ensure all vehicles are loaded/unloaded in a timely manner and vehicles are off site on time.
6. Conduct a comprehensive handover for the next shift supervisor.

The ideal Transport / Logistics Supervisor candidate will have:

1. Previous Transport/Logistics planning, supervisory experience, or have been a transport planner that has stood in for the manager and is ready for the next step in responsibility.
2. Excellent telephone manner.
3. Organisational and prioritisation skills.
4. Experience of managing people.
5. Competent in working with Microsoft Word/Excel.
