About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Logistics / Transport Manager to join an industry leading retailer that has a first class reputation for delivering quality products and exemplary customer service. As a First Line Manager you will be expected to manage all Transport operations within the distribution centre with a strong focus on improving operational performance.

  • Salary of £48,533 - £ 69,733 GBP pa, inclusive of a night shift premium
  • The hours of work are 22:00 - 06:00 5 days a week and include weekends on rotation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing a diverse team of transport office staff and drivers.
  • Management & maintaining a delivery schedule
  • KPI Management
  • Driver debrief.
  • Operational administration as required
  • Ad-Hoc transport office duties.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Management CPC qualification (Non Essential).
  • To be self-motivated, plan and exceed service delivery expectations and manage the resources required for the department
  • An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
  • Managing and developing staff.
  • Experience of working in a management role in a Transport / Distribution environment
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience of dealing with full disciplinary procedures according to ACAS guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills.
