Job Title: Motorcycle Technician - HC622215

Location: Winchester

Pay Grade: Scale 6, £36,247.00 - £38,329.00 per annum which includes a £4,000.00 market supplement. Plus overtime opportunities.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday and Friday 08:00 - 16:00).

Overview

We are on the lookout for a friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police Transport Department. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police Transport Department are seeking skilled, highly motivated Motorcycle Technicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain various motorcycles. The Motorcycle Technician should have strong mechanical knowledge and excellent customer service skills to ensure internal customer satisfaction. The staff, officers and volunteers of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police are here so that the people we serve, their families and our communities are safer. To deliver our quality public service, it is vital we can call upon our dynamic Police Fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of motorcycles, including police equipment.
  • Carry out fault finding from initial diagnosis through to completion; ensure repairs and maintenance meet high standards for the police fleet.
  • Work on motorcycles used by roads policing, armed response and public order operations, including those deployed nationwide for mutual aid.
  • Perform servicing, repairs, road tests, and basic motorcycle fits to ensure readiness for police use.
  • Work under pressure and unsupervised on a range of motorcycles with police equipment.
  • Contribute to opportunities to support local and national events as part of the role.
