We’re looking for

A Transport Coordinator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our Wakefield site, on the 8.30am to 5pm shifts, Monday to Friday.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re offering a salary of up to £33,500. Benefits include 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with options to buy additional days. You’ll also have access to high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Ensure drivers are dispatched and the plan is managed and executed, ensuring all deliveries and collections meet the contract SLAs, with remedial planning for live changes.
  • Follow all processes and procedures to operate a safe and efficient environment.
  • Support the Site Manager in compliance and legal obligations during your shift.
  • Liaise with stakeholders for effective vehicle and subcontractor use.
  • Manage VOR/Defect processes and keep logs up to date.
  • Arrange breakdown repairs for vehicles or trailers.
  • Act as the initial site response in incidents, liaising with managers.
  • Escalate vehicle accident details to line management.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to changing daily tasks.
  • Experience in a complex, time-critical logistics environment.
  • Proven transport experience, with understanding of compliance, driver hours, and incident investigations.
  • Computer literacy for emailing, dispatching drivers, and daily handovers.
  • Transport experience with C+E drivers is beneficial.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
