Join XPO Logistics as an Apprentice Transport Coordinator and take your first step into the world of logistics. You’ll work at the heart of a busy transport operation, gaining hands-on experience, expert guidance, and a clear path for progression.

Position Overview:

A Transport Coordinator is generally responsible for scheduling drivers and routing deliveries, ensuring vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, optimizing transportation routes and ensuring compliance with transportation laws and regulations. Many Transport Coordinators go on to progress within a busy transport office, becoming Transport Planners, Transport Supervisors or Transport Managers.

You'll receive on-the-job training and guidance from experienced transport professionals, giving you the skills and knowledge, you need to succeed in a transport career. To excel in this role, you'll need to have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

The Traffic Office Level 2 apprenticeship will last 15 months, consisting of on the job training with a mentor and then an end of point assessment to show everything you have learnt. After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you will be offered a permanent role with XPO with lots of opportunities to progress.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £23,795.20 a year. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

This exciting role is critical to the running of the transport operation. You’ll be involved in lots of areas, with some of your responsibilities covering the below:

· Working on the system where we track customer orders from receipt to delivery

· Vehicle tracking and supporting our professional drivers when out on the road

· Working with the team and customer to ensure professional standards.

· Investigation system and stock issues

· Printing consignment notes and driver paperwork

· Liaising with customer services

· Monitoring driver crew progress throughout the day

· Assisting the supervisors in their day duties

· Debriefing driver crews after their shifts and ensuring systems are updated correctly.

· Locating and scanning proof of delivery paperwork as requested

· Keeping our customers updated on late routes or delays etc.

· Providing support with our vehicle compliance using our systems

· Adhering and championing Health, Safety, Security and Environmental procedures

· Promote a culture where Health and Safety is priority

· Ensure workplace organisation standards are always adhered to

· To support Accident/Incident investigations
