Job summary

Proactive Logistics Ltd in Stowmarket is seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to support the day-to-day running of container transport, LCL distribution and warehousing services. You will coordinate daily deliveries, input bookings into TOPS, handle calls and emails promptly, manage subcontractors and maintain accurate records, while delivering high standards of customer service in a busy logistics environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within transport, logistics or distribution.
• Strong UK geographical knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Confident problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and remain organised in a busy environment.
• Experience using transport management systems would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily deliveries and collections, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.
• Inputting and managing bookings within our transport software (TOPS).
• Responding to incoming telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
• Managing and communicating with subcontractors.
• Maintaining accurate operational records and systems.
• Managing customer accounts and providing regular operational updates.
• Resolving day-to-day transport issues quickly and effectively.
• Supporting the wider operations team as required.

Job description

Proactive Logistics Ltd is looking for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our growing team based in Stowmarket, Suffolk.

This is a varied operational role supporting the day-to-day running of our container transport, LCL distribution and general warehousing services. We are looking for someone organised, and commercially aware, who can work well in a busy transport environment and takes pride in providing a high level of customer service.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00

Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent

There will also be an occasional requirement to assist with out-of-hours operational matters.

Key Responsibilities
