Job description

Due to company growth, we are looking for a Transport Compliance Manager to join our growing fleet department.

Location: Preston

Salary: £40,000

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Transport Manager with driver tachograph analysis using Tacho Master.
  • Perform weekly vehicle tachograph checks in line with vehicle inspections.
  • Analyze tachograph records to ensure compliance with legislation, laws, and WTD rules.
  • Conduct daily defects and walk-around checks, ensuring all are completed and systems updated; coordinate with the hire desk for asset visibility on Samsara.
  • Escalate non-reported daily defects to the Transport Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Workshop Manager and Head of Fleet to address defects, opening job cards in Syrinx referencing FV defects.
  • Support vehicle inspections and MOTs by maintaining and reporting relevant records; assist in scheduling pre-planned works.
  • Regularly check driver licenses for compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
  • Distribute schedules for inspections, services, and MOTs to relevant managers.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Fleet and Workshop Coordinator to ensure all work is scheduled and covered.
  • Send schedules to operations to prevent missed appointments.
  • Monitor and manage fleet fuel usage, identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Work with depot managers to ensure accurate fuel records and cost tracking.
  • Manage penalty charge notices and parking fines, liaising with drivers and authorities.
  • Report trends and escalate repeated offences.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and dashboard creation.
  • Assist in preparing board packs and other reports as required.
  • Oversee daily operations of the transport office.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Transport.
