Overview

Transport Co-Ordinator Location: Darlington, DL1 4XT Pay Rate: GBP13.70 per hour Working hours: 40 hours per week - 30-minute unpaid break per day

  • Standard: 12:00 - 20:00
  • Training period: Rotating shifts 06:00 - 14:00 / 12:00 - 20:00 / 20:00 - 06:00
  • Occasional cover: 20:00 - 06:00 (for annual leave/absence cover)

Pay Rate: GBP13.70 per hour We are currently recruiting for a reliable and organised Transport Co-Ordinator to join a busy team on a temp-to-perm basis with an immediate start. Our client is a well-established third-party provider of transportation and logistics services, offering Drayage, Global Freight Forwarding and Full Truckload Transport solutions. The company is committed to environmental sustainability, working with customers to create action plans that reduce emissions and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate and monitor driver schedules.
  • Conduct pre-briefs at the start of shifts and debriefs at the end.
  • Manage transport issues throughout the day, ensuring customers are kept fully informed.
  • Complete and maintain accurate driver reports and paperwork.
  • Organise annual leave cover using agency/subcontractors.
  • Optimise vehicle efficiency and plan backhaul loads where possible.
  • Report vehicle defects to the maintenance provider promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders and Managers to learn and apply driver compliance (working time directive and driving hours).
