Transport Co-Ordinator

Position Title: Transport Coordinator (Temp to Perm)

Location: Crawley

Hours: 07:00 - 17:00

Pay: £13:45ph

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
2. Assign drivers to routes and manage daily dispatches.
3. Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures.
4. Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.
5. Coordinate regular vehicle inspections and repairs.
6. Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
7. Promote and enforce safety standards and practices among drivers and staff.
8. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
9. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and vendors.
10. Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or complaints promptly.
11. Provide regular updates to customers on delivery statuses.
12. Demonstrate excellent phone communication skills to ensure clear and effective interactions.
13. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including deliveries, pickups, and fuel usage.
14. Generate and analyze reports to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation coordination or a similar role.
2. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
6. Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
7. Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate records and schedules.
8. Must be good on the phone, with strong verbal communication skills.
