Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Transport Clerk to join our successful team on the Day shift at our 550,000 sq ft multi-temperature distribution centre in Sherburn in Elmet dedicated to Sainsbury's.

Shifts and Salary

• Shifts: 06:00-18:00 on a 4 on 4 off shift rota
• Salary: £27,040 per annum

How will you contribute?

• Reporting to the Transport Team Managers
• Complete pre-brief and dispatch drivers according to the planning schedule
• Conduct de-briefs with drivers at shift end
• Gather all relevant information accurately and timely
• Support efficient transport administration
• Assist in duties like answering phones, issuing vehicle keys, updating Microlise, and using the C3 yard management system
• Check delivery documents for accuracy and highlight issues
• Participate in investigations and disciplinary meetings as a note taker
• Demonstrate sound planning and control skills to meet targets and improve processes
• Enter data and monitor vehicle movements via the site computerised system
• Produce weekly reports and escalate issues as necessary
• Manually amend system data to facilitate vehicle movements
• Perform additional duties as required to support the department
