Position: Transport Assistant

Location:C/O THE EDGE BUILDING,Charnwood Edge Bus. Park, 1, Syston Road, Cossington, Leicester, LE7 4UZ

Line Reporting Manager: Head of Fleet & Compliance

Weekly Hours: Monday - Friday 07:00am - 17:00pm (45hour week, 1hour unpaid lunch break)

Salary: £12.60ph / £29,484

Principle Duties And Accountabilities

  • Support and liaise with the Transport Team and Management, ensuring daily administrative tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively to company standards.
  • Support Transport Team.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • General administration: filing, including all service sheets, defects.
  • Managing service bookings / defect rectifications.
  • Ensure all drivers have complete VPR checks daily along with logging all defects reported.
  • Liaising with drivers regarding defect issues.
  • Liaising with service providers, making sure bookings are correct and update service sheet
  • Maintaining service sheet, making sure all paperwork is correct and filed.
  • Updating all vehicle files making sure all paperwork is correct.
  • Dealing with general telephone enquiries from customers and employees.
  • Administration of fuel and mileage consumptions and for CO2 emissions.
  • Invoicing and issuing purchase order numbers.
  • Being flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties to assist with the operation of the Transport Department.

Qualifications / Competency

  • Previous experience in a transport environment
  • Previous experience in the transport, waste, or logistics industry desired
  • You must have the ability to take responsibility for your own workload.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office systems including Word and Excel
  • Good communicator, able to provide clear oral and written advice.
  • Organizing and planning skills.
  • Ability to set your own tasks and enable completion of responsibilities.
  • Reliable, responsible, numerate, and commercially aware
  • Receptive to training and new ways of working
  • Ability to well under pressure
  • Good communication skills verbal and written.
  • Full UK Driving License
