Employees in this unit group carry out a variety of secretarial tasks associated with products distribution and transportation.

Qualifications needed for this position:

Although there are no minimum academic qualifications, most applicants have GCSEs or S grades. On-the-job training is typically offered. Levels 1, 2, and 3 offer NVQs and SVQs in pertinent fields.

This job requires the following tasks:

• Orders from customers are processed, and requisition paperwork is sent to storage and distribution staff;
• Creates delivery loads, vehicle timetables, and routes that delivery personnel must adhere to;
• Tracks tachograph readings and keeps track of drivers’ hours worked and distance travelled;
• Acquires customs clearance and completes import and export paperwork required for international trade;
• Acquires customs clearance and completes import and export paperwork required for international trade;
• Keeps track of the position and movement of personnel, containers, and freight.
