Burns & McDonnell is offering a Design Management Intern position in Birmingham for Summer 2027. You will support project scope, scheduling, documentation, and team communication across engineering groups to ensure smooth execution.

The role involves data collection and analysis, preparing presentations, and assisting with ad hoc projects under managers’ guidance. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited program.
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary or technical program related to the department’s work.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow within the field.

Responsabilités

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend actions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
