Job Description:

We have a new opportunity to be part of our Transmission team in the role of Transmission Design Engineer - Composites.

As a Transmission Design Engineer - Composites, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team of design engineers responsible for the scheme, design, testing, and development of mechanical and composite components.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating design schemes from concept stage for mechanical and composite components.
  • Producing detailed drawings to facilitate component manufacturing.
  • Providing follow-up support during assembly, testing, and development.
  • Developing practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
  • Contributing proactively to the development, implementation, and improvement of design concepts.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mechanical design and Formula 1 regulations.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Proven experience in mechanical and composite design within a motorsport environment, preferably Formula 1.
  • Expertise in producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings for complex assemblies under demanding schedules.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, ideally with strong working knowledge of Catia 3Dexperience.
  • Experience in CFRP composite component design and manufacture, such as suspension components.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent in a mechanical engineering-related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to perform under pressure, meeting strict deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude with a commitment to teamwork.
  • A clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety regulations.

This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with an additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
