Transmission Construction Representative - $5K Sign-On Bonus - Electric Utilities - Transmission Line & Substation

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Construction Representative to oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms for projects related to the electric transmission system. The role involves ensuring safe, on-schedule completion of work that meets design specifications across various projects, from upgrades to new substations.

  1. Ensure contractors adhere to all contract requirements during construction.
  2. Monitor safety and compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  3. Manage projects including substation upgrades and new constructions.
  4. Identify potential issues impacting project success, such as design flaws, material shortages, or access challenges.
  5. Assist in resolving issues to maintain project timelines, quality, and safety.
  6. Apply knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements, with understanding of transmission and distribution.
  7. Interpret engineering drawings and guide their application in construction.
  8. Ensure compliance with owner standards and safety protocols.
  9. Perform duties independently while demonstrating leadership and expertise.
  10. Mentor and train lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives, sharing best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, contributing to the successful execution of construction projects.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, working in rough terrain and inclement weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Travel may be required, and long hours may be necessary.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in construction management or engineering is a plus.
  • 6+ years of relevant transmission line and substation experience.
  • Utility industry experience preferred.
  • Compliance management experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer, iPad, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
