Overview

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Translational Support Laboratory Technician to join the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO), working in a team of trial management professionals, running a varied and growing portfolio of clinical trials. This post will form part of the Translational Support Unit that supports clinical trials and laboratory-based research by receiving and processing clinical samples. Embedding translation and ensuring robust biological sample collection is a key priority for OCTO.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a range of sample collection, processing (including blood sample preparation, biopsy processing, and molecular techniques), analysis, storage, and distribution tasks.
  • Maintain clinical trial regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability of OCTO sample collection activities.
Qualifications and experience
  • Experience with the techniques and methods listed in the Responsibilities section of the job description.
  • Proven experience working to GCP/GCLP standards and in a clinical/molecular/biochemistry laboratory.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, plan and manage a high volume of work to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed, and ensure that the laboratory runs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience in using digital Quality Management and Laboratory Management systems will be advantageous.
