Job summary

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking a Transition and Progression Coordinator for- a fixed-term role (until September 2028) at the Town Centre Campus in Burton on Trent. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and delivering transition support to new and progressing learners, ensuring a positive learner journey from application through to completion.

You will work with schools, Additional Learning Support, parents and external agencies to help learners engage, achieve and progress,

Qualifications

  • Experience in education, youth support or FE.
  • Understanding of post-16 transition and learner support.
  • Experience supporting SEND learners.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and target support effectively.
  • Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver transition, induction and bridging activities.
  • Coordinate targeted summer transition programmes
  • Liaise with schools, PRUs and partner organisations
  • Attend reviews and progression planning meetings
  • Identify learners at risk and implement interventions
  • Monitor attendance, retention and progress
  • Provide guidance to learners and parents/carers
  • Work with safeguarding, wellbeing and curriculum teams

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Transition and Progression Coordinator and join a fun and collaborative team who make a real difference to learner success and progression.

You will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of transition support for new and progressing learners, ensuring a positive learner journey from application through to successful completion.

Working closely with schools, curriculum teams, Additional Learning Support, parents/carers and external agencies, you will help learners engage, achieve and progress successfully.
