Job description

VANRATH are recruiting a Transformation Project Manager for a large Utility organisation in Belfast. Reporting into the Head of Transformation, this is an urgent start (within 2 weeks) for an initial duration of 6 months, with opportunities for extension. The post holder will support the Head of Transformation with various projects related to derogations, SLAs, and regulatory changes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join an organisation undergoing a significant range of projects.

Hybrid working arrangements (3 days in the office and 2 days remote), complimentary lunch, car parking, and electric charging points on site are provided.

Remuneration

£45-55k, plus pension and holiday pay.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and implementing best practice programme management and governance across various projects.
• Maintaining governance and risk management activities for projects or programmes in line with policies and practices.
• Planning and designing projects collaboratively with colleagues, business leads, and subject matter experts; monitoring progress and proactively resolving issues.
• Supporting management of project and programme budgets and benefits realization.
• Participating in analysis, process design, readiness activities, and implementation to support project delivery.
• Using analytical and problem-solving skills to uphold project standards and momentum.
• Providing regular, high-quality project and programme updates and ensuring positive stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborating with colleagues to improve project and programme delivery methodologies and tools.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree or equivalent qualification plus at least two years of relevant experience, or four years of relevant experience in business analysis and/or project management.
• Proven ability to identify, define, and solve problems.
• Effective communication skills with a focus on high-quality reporting.
• Experience with MS applications such as SharePoint and Teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships within multi-professional teams.
• Highly organized, capable of coordinating and progressing activities of others.

Desirable Criteria

• Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, Agile certification, or similar.
• Experience working within energy, utility, or similar complex or regulated environments.
• Experience with project management tools like MS Project, DevOps, or Trello.
