Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Project Manager to join the Retail PMO, supporting a major procurement and transformation programme. You will influence delivery, challenge plans, identify risks early, and work with the Programme Manager to drive multi-workstream delivery.

You will govern decisions, manage risks, and provide insights for senior stakeholders, ensuring effective governance and timely delivery across streams. Hybrid base with office days in Langley/Reading.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale programmes with procurement or operational transformation.
• Strong governance, reporting and RAID (risks, actions, issues, dependencies) management.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and manage interdependencies.
• Proactive identification of risks/issues and driving actions to resolution.
• Excellent stakeholder management including senior leaders and sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of programme governance and controls across the programme.
• Lead governance forums, calendars, RAID logs and action trackers.
• Produce weekly and monthly programme reporting for a coherent programme-wide view.
• Analyse performance, identify trends, risks and areas needing intervention.
• Collaborate with Programme Manager and workstream leads to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
• Build relationships across workstreams, delivery teams, stakeholders and suppliers.
• Challenge plans and readiness to ensure deliverables are achievable and blockers are avoided.
• Support recovery planning and provide recommendations to improve performance.
