Job description

Linklaters are delivering an ambitious transformational change programme to re-imagine the way that our Business Teams work with the practice to deliver an exceptional client experience. The programme is central to the achievement of the firm’s strategic ambitions.

As a key member of our programme team, the Transformation Lead is responsible for managing the implementation of a new operating model for one of our key Business Teams functions.

You will work closely with our programme leadership team, workstream leads, third parties and senior management and leaders across our Business Teams functions.

Key areas of responsibility:
  • Working with the function Chief and their leadership team to define a transformation roadmap and drive the development and execution of detailed functional plans.
  • Supporting the function Chief and their leadership teams to plan and prepare for engagement with their teams and other key stakeholders, creating appropriate materials and communications.
  • Take a leading role in defining the change strategy and tangible change interventions related to the functional transformation.
  • Actively managing BAU pressures and peaks on functional change, ensuring transformation approach minimises risk to BAU service delivery during critical periods.
  • Working collaboratively with regional leads, other functional transformation teams and project/programme teams to ensure that plans are holistic and delivered successfully in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Identifying and proactively managing emerging risks, issues, roadblocks, and resource needs for the function.
  • Input into integrated programme planning activities and support the provision of timely programme reporting.
Characteristics, skills, and experience required:
  • A minimum of five years’ experience of supporting leaders activate their functions, with direct experience of managing transformational change through new target operating model implementation and end-to-end process transformation.
  • Experience developing and implementing organisational designs in complex, global organisations.
  • Experience in legal services or a professional services partnership environment is preferred, as is a background and understanding of one or more of the following key business functions: Business Development & Marketing, Technology & Data, and HR.
  • A solid understanding of change management, with knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project or programme lifecycle.
  • An ability to understand different cultural/local issues, whilst maintaining a focus on global solutions.
  • A proactive and action-oriented approach, driving clarity out of ambiguity, and progress via self and others.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to communicate effectively at all levels - clearly and succinctly conveying ideas and options.
  • An inclusive style, aware of the needs of, and supportive of, team members.
