Inspire. Develop. Shape the future of policing.
British Transport Police (BTP) is the national police force for the rail network throughout Great Britain. As the ‘Guardians of the Railway,’ we put passenger safety at the heart of what we do. Guided by our values: We Care, We Do the Right Thing, We Strive to Be Better Every Day, We Are One BTP, and We Are Proud to Protect, we are committed to creating an environment where our people, and communities we serve, can thrive.
Are you passionate about developing others, helping to create the workforce of the future, and developing new officers to reach their full potential?
We are seeking dedicated and motivated Police Constables to join our Learning and Development team as a Recruit Trainer. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in BTP by shaping the knowledge, skills and confidence of our future officers.
As a Recruit Trainer, you will play a vital role in transforming recruits into capable, professional and values-driven police officers. Through innovative and engaging learning experiences, you will bring policing to life, equipping new starters with the tools they need to succeed. You will support, design and deliver complex, extensive learning and development programmes, enabling the organisation to achieve its goals and individuals to fulfil their potential.
For further information regarding the role, please see the attached job description.
Please note there may be opportunities to be deployed elsewhere in BTP if circumstances change in the role.
We are committed to building a workforce where everyone feels they belong.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer and strive to create a workplace that is fair, respectful and accessible to all. We actively work to challenge discrimination, remove barriers and ensure equity throughout our recruitment and employment practices.
If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or selection process, please let us know - we are happy to support you.
Your talent, your potential, and your unique perspective matter here.
