Job description

Overview

As a Transfer Station Chemist, you will be responsible for waste assessment, regulatory compliance, and coordinating transport and disposal of waste streams with internal and external stakeholders. You will work within Veolia’s health and safety and environmental standards to support sustainable waste management.

Responsibilities
  • Technically assess waste before uploading lists into Salesforce
  • Liaise with sites regularly regarding incoming wastes
  • Check and generate paperwork and labels
  • Ensure all wastes are segregated and stored according to relevant regulations and legislation
  • Manage inputs and maintain stock levels of waste and packaging
  • Arrange transport and disposal of loads to both internal and external customers
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required
  • IT literate
  • IOSH passport is desirable
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Chemicals / Waste
  • Experience/desirable: ADR, WM3 and S506
